Fourth of July 2023 a Huge Success!
Well over 200 people turned out for the 2023 Avon Woods Fourth of July Parade and Party — plus more than a few furry friends! The crowd began gathering around 9:30am and the parade began with a Memphis Fire Department fire engine taking the lead. Neighbors cheered the parade along the way, standing and waving from lawn chairs. Some dressed in red, white and blue. Some with boom boxes blaring patriotic tunes. We may have even spied a mimosa brunch

Ladd Roberts of Mid-South Tree Farm says trees in our area should be planted no later than mid-April to get ahead of Memphis' dreaded summer heat, which can be especially hard on newly planted trees.
