Fourth of July a Huge Success!

Well over 200 people turned out for the 2023 Avon Woods Fourth of July Parade and Party — plus more than a few furry friends! The crowd began gathering around 9:30am and the parade began with a Memphis Fire Department fire engine taking the lead. Neighbors cheered the parade along the way, standing and waving from lawn chairs. Some dressed in red, white and blue. Some with boom boxes blaring patriotic tunes. We may have even spied a mimosa brunch along the way. Afterward, kids entertained themselves in an inflatable bouncy house or cooled down under the spray of the fire engine. And what Fourth of July would be complete without grilled hot dogs — courtesy of grillmaster Jonathan Jussley with help from Torrent Johnston. A special THANKS to event coordinators Derrick and Amanda Von Stein, Barbara Rea, Virginia Williams, Julie Hollis and Michele Buring!
