Perfect Fall Day for the 2024 Fall Picnic
We could not have asked for better weather this Saturday, Oct. 19, for the Annual Avon Woods Fall Picnic! More than 200 neighbors and friends gathered at Avon Park for food, fun and football games. We were joined by about half dozen MPD officers from the Appling Station precinct who showed up to continue their support of our Neighborhood Watch and to get acquainted. Hayrides were provided by neighbor Hunter Robinson and pumpkin painting by Lisa Jo Perdue. We were joined by Mr. Joe’s Ice Cream and Memphis City Beautiful. There were grilled hamburgers and hot dogs — courtesy of grillmasters Torrent Johnston, Tim Williams and Mark Fruitt, baked beans courtesy of Amanda Von Stein and Barbara Rea, potato salad donated by Shane and Gina Bennett, and mac and cheese by Melody and Turk Trammell. A special THANKS to event coordinators Derrick and Amanda Von Stein, Torrent Johnston, Mary K Allen, Barbara Rea, Paige Wallace, Virginia Williams, and Jay Perdue!
